It's partly responsible for inspiring me to take up martial arts. Besides, I remember some parent who wrote into the site's podcast mentioned that they didn't understand it was sexual half the time, and just thought he was a strange old man.īut with regards to what Violadude has to say, I think that what Dragon Ball teaches kids is that fighting is cool, regardless of whether or not the blood's censored. I'd even go as far as to say that Kame Sennin's more perverted scenes would be okay, considering he usually falls short of getting what he wants anyway. Dragon Ball, for the most part, I'd say is just fine, provided they're not watching any scenes where Bulma's naked or anything like that. If I ever become a parent, I think I'll probably watch a little of what they do and make my own judgments about whether or not it's appropriate for them. I don't think we should cover something like that up. When people get hurt badly enough, they're going to die. When people get hurt, they're going to bleed. But violence, as a general rule, I don't think I have much of a problem with. That's something the majority of parents couldn't stand their children watching, and they probably shouldn't if they're not at least a teenager.

Quite frankly, I think that anime should probably have some parts censored when released here in America, (on TV DVD and manga, not so much) but not so much the violence as opposed to sexual innuendos and the like. I'm pretty liberal when it comes to edits in TV shows. Since we have decided to market that kind of show to kids, do you think it's a good idea to just give them a more realistic view of the violence in the show so they don't grow up with this fantasized view of violence where no one bleeds and no punches actually make contact with anyone? If we're going to be so squeamish in America about death and violence, should we really be trying to market a show that obviously has both of those to kids? After all, theres no way of dancing around the fact that people die in the show no matter how hard Nicktoons tries to cover that up.Ģ. So I guess I have two questions for you guysġ. Maybe if they saw what fighting really did, in other words, make the violence look more scary, then they would be less likely to fight in real life. I feel that removing the blood and stuff like that for this show might give kids a fantasized view of fighting, where if you fight someone in real life, the worst that is going to happen is that you might get a few "black smudges" on you.

#NICKTOONS DRAGON BALL Z KAI EDITS SERIES#
On the surface it seems like this would be the way to go for an edit of a show to air on Nicktoons, but after thinking about it I thought is this really the way to go? After all in an action series you can't exactly hide the fact that the characters are fighting, or that there is some kind of violence taking place. So as a Nicktoons edit, this version of Kai pretty much edits out most cases of blood, more "extreme" violence, and references to death. So I was looking at Tanooki's Dragon ball z Kai Nicktoons edit guide and it got me thinking about a few things.
